Peer Support is fine and good. However, I keep saying "Do you just want to be a professional peer?" Also, if you really recover, you can use other abilites and talents. I am a Peer and I never accept money for doing "helping work."
Support groups are great. However, some our our "Peer groups" are funded by County and the money comes from NYSOM. Therefore, they have to follow certain procedures and structures just like any other not for profit organization.Good luck to all peers. Move forward!
